Direct Table Editing
Although it is not recommended, you can use cf_sebForm to edit a table directly. Note that this may not be supported in future versions.
The following attributes are required for direct table editing:
- pkfield: The name of the primary key field for the table cf_sebForm should use. Required for use with table and query.
- datasource: Datasource name. If left blank, cf_sebForm will not attempt to add or update and database records.
- dbtable: The name of the database table that cf_sebForm should use. Required if a datasource is provided.
As part of this functionality, you can even have cf_sebForm create the table and columns for you. To do this, the following cf_sebForm attributes are required.
- altertable
- dbtype: The code for the database that you are using. Required if database is provided and altertable is true.
The following cf_sebField attributes are available when using altertable="true":
- dbdatatype: The database data type for the field (required for cf_sebForm to add the table).
- cfdatatype: The cfqueryparam type (required for cf_sebForm to use cfqueryparam).
- isnullable: Indicates whether or not the database field should be nullable.
Keep in mind, this functionality is not recommended and is unlikely to be supported in the future.
